Mick Jagger will remain in Australia for the time being after his long-term girlfriend L’Wren Scott was found dead in New York.
The glamorous fashion designer was found hanging in her Manhattan apartment, more than 12,000 miles away from Jagger who is currently in Perth for the Rolling Stones tour.
While the band have cancelled a scheduled show on Wednesday, the 70-year-old rocker is yet to make the seven hour flight to New York.
A representative from Frontier Touring said reports Jagger has left the country were – “to their knowledge” – wide of the mark, adding the band “has gathered together and they’re dealing with the situation”.
There were rumours of a press conference to discuss future shows on the tour Down Under but this also appears to be false.
Fans are expected to know more detail regarding the other shows imminently.
Packs of media are camped outside Perth International Airport where the Stones’ private jet is still on the tarmac.
